Description of Idea Part I: Step-close-step-jump (Boy's part given, reverse for girl's part) Counts 1-4 Count 1 - Step to the left on the left foot and slap left hand on left leg. Counts 5-8 Repeat counts 1-4 starting on right foot and slapping right hand to right leg. Counts 9-16 Repeat counts 1-8. Part II: Step-touches (Boy's and girl's parts are the same) Counts 1-4 Count 1 - Both partners step on the right foot making 1/4 turn to the left so partners' right hips are close together. Counts 5-16 Repeat counts 1-4 three more times for a total of 16 counts. Part III: Pivot turns, 3 walks, and jump (Boy's and girl's parts are the same) Counts 1-4 Count 1 - Step forward on right foot facing away from partner. Counts 5-8 Walk forward 3 steps (right-left-right). REPEAT from the beginning. Variations: Make it a 4-wall line dance by having all students begin without partners and in lines facing one wall. All begin on right foot (since no partner - claps are optional). On last count of dance instead of jumping and turning 1/4 turn to the right, just jump without a change of direction. |
