Name of Activity: Family & Social Health Unit

Purpose of Activity: This unit includes six days worth of lesson plans, assignments, and projects covering family and social health issues. It is meant to be discussion based and interactive. For each day there is a power point presentation, lesson plan, and worksheet activites.

Suggested Grade Level: 9-12

Materials Needed: Computer and projector for Power Point (or overhead with transparencies)

Description of Idea

This is a unit that I do for our students to teach them about Family and Social Health. The first PDF document below includes the overall objectives and goals of the Family and Social Health Unit. On the first page you will find these unit goals and objectives. Following the first page, one will see there are six additional pages that have a detailed lesson plan for each day. In the upper right hand corner it is numbered, Day 1 Lesson Plan, etc. Each lesson includes the daily objectives, a detailed lesson description, discussion questions, and any embedded assignments (like projects or homework). Following the day's lesson plan are the worksheets that correspond with the embedded assignments.

In the Power Point linked to below, all of the daily lessons have been combined. The beginning of each day's lesson has a title slide, and is concluded with an application.
