Description:

This bulletin board was made by the students in grades PK - 1st. It is a way to reinforce staying active and healthy when not at school. The students drew a picture of how they exercised their bodies during the summer. We discuss exercising the mind also, but explain we are looking for an activity that helped their heart stay strong. Once all the worksheets were completed they were hung in the main hallway of the school. As the students shared their pictures with their classmates it helped other students to learn new activities, and also learn how their classmates stayed active. I like this bulletin board since it was made by the students. Parents, faculty and visitors to the school see the pictures displayed in a very public space and see our commitment to being active.
